Meet Hannah VanSant-Ouellette.
Hannah’s AmeriCorps journey started in Minnesota Math and Reading Corps as a Math Corps Member for the 2015-16 school year. There she had the opportunity to take on special projects, tutor elementary-aged students in math, as well as explore leadership opportunities.
After serving with Math Corps, Hannah wanted to gain more leadership experience and learn skills applicable to professional life. That’s when she found the VISTA Leader position at MCN. She said that throughout her time as a VISTA Leader, “I learned immensely about the amazing work nonprofits and their employees do across Minnesota!”
During her VISTA Leader service, Hannah went above and beyond and served as the President of Minnesota’s InterCorps Council (ICC). Reflecting on her service as a VISTA Leader and the ICC President, she said “I will always be grateful of the opportunities I have had and my spirit of service will continue throughout the rest of my life.”
Hannah is currently back at Minnesota Reading and Math Corps as a Program Manager. As a Program Manager, she oversees Reading and Math Corps community partnerships and coordinates the members serving in schools within the West Metro area.
While she works, she is both pursuing a Master of Education in Youth Development Leadership at the University of Minnesota and is in the 2018-19 Young Nonprofit Professional Network's Leadership Institute. She will graduate from the University of Minnesota in the spring of 2019.
Thank you for your service, Hannah. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do!
